Mit Samurai Showdown: Edge of Destiny wird es erneut einen Teil der Prügelspielserie geben, welcher im Herbst via Xbox Live erscheinen wird. Produziert wird das Ganze allerdings nicht von SNK, sondern von Ignition Entertainment.
Heute veröffentlichen nun die Entwickler ein erstes Video zum Game. In diesem Video werden die verschiedenen Kämpfer vorgestellt. Unter anderem kehren hierbei dreizehn Charaktere der klassischen Spielserie zurück, aber auch elf neue Kämpfer werden sich hinzugesellen. Weiterhin wird Samurai Showdown: Edge of Destiny dieses Mal kein 2D-Prügelspiel werden, sondern in die 3. Dimension wechseln, wie im Video sehr anschaulich zu sehen ist.

Bislang gibt es noch keinen genauen Releasetermin. Der Veröffentlichungszeitraum für den Nordamerikanischen Markt wird derzeit mit Herbst 2009 angegeben, doch wann man in Europa mit dem XBLA Spiel zu rechnen hat ist derzeit noch unbekannt.

Termin für Japan steht fest! & Wird wohl ein Vollpreis Spiel werden!?
Das Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny für die 360 umgesetzt wird, war ja schon bekannt. Allerdings konnte bis jetzt noch kein konkretes Veröffentlichungsdatum genannt werden.
Wie jetzt inzwischen aber bekannt gegeben wurde, soll das Spiel in Japan am 10. Dezember 2009 zum Preis von 7.140 Yen (ca. 53 Euro/Tageskurs) auf den Markt kommen. Eine Ankündigung für europäische oder nordamerikanische Gefilde steht derzeit leider noch aus. Japaner hingegen, können sich bereits zum Weihnachtsgeschäft auf neu hinzugekommene Charaktere, sowie Online-Unterstützung freuen und heiße Kämpfe liefern.

Wie es aussieht wird das Spiel wohl über den Handel als Vollversion veröffentlicht, so schaut es zumindest aus, wenn ich mir den Preis angucke. Gametrailers führt das Spiel jetzt auch als Arcade & 360 Version. Die Überschrift werde ich bei Gelegenheit anpassen - warte jetzt erst nochmal auf andere Quellen...

Genauer Termin bekannt!
Also bei dieser News bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob es sich um ein und dasselbe Spiel handelt! War zu Anfang noch von Samurai Showdown: Edge of Destiny die Rede, lese ich jetzt nur noch was von Samurai Showdown Sen, welches von Rising Star Games Entwickelt wird. Diese haben nun bestätigt, dass Samurai Showdown Sen hierzulande am 16. April 2010 für 39,99 Euro (UVP) exklusiv für die Xbox 360 auf den Markt kommen wird.
