Geohot ist einer der besten hacker die ich gesehen habe... Dev team arbeitete monate an dem baseband hack und geohot macht es in ein paar tagen! wtf?!
Problem an dem ganzen...
Wie man in den News lesen konnte macht Sony mit jeder verkauften ps3 minuszahlen, da sie es unter den produktionskosten verkaufen...plus machen sie mit dem verkauf von spielen...aber wenn sich jetzt jeder ne ps3 kauft wenn man sk abspielen kann und dann jedes spiel brennt, ist das der ruin für sony!!
Da kann sich sony dann beim geohot bedanken...
und ich weiß wie das bei den iphone apps geendet hat -> morddrohungen...

ja aber ich denke das diese firmen sowohl microsoft sowie sony iwann denken dass die projekte ps3 und xbox keinen gewinn mehr bringen und vll iwann aufgelassen werden..

Ganz sicher nicht!
Sie werden alles dran setzen es Raubkopierern schwer zu machen.. aber sich gegenseitig oder Nintendo die Monopol-Stellung zuschieben werden sie 100%ig nicht!^^

die Ereignisse im Bereich der Playstation-Scene überschlagen sich derzeit. Heute hat Sony im offiziellen Webblog angekündigt mit dem nächsten Firmwareupdate V 3.21 die OtherOS Funktion der älteren "Phat" PS3 Modellen zu entfernen. Dieses Update ist zunächst einmal freiwillig, aber wer es nicht hat wird Probleme beim Zugang zum PSN sowie Probleme mit neueren Games bekommen.
Sony nimmt euch somit die Möglichkeit ein zweites Betriebssystem wie z.B. Linux oder die Mediacentersoftware MEGABOX zu installieren.
Der Konsolenhersteller begründet diesen Schritt mit Sicherheitsbedenken, die durch den ersten Hack der PS3 im Januar diesen Jahres durch George Hotz (GeoHot) entstanden sind. Und genau von diesem gibt es aktuell ein passende Antwort auf die Ankündigung von Sony mit einer klaren Ansage:
NICHT UPDATEN !
Sobald die neue Firmware erschienen ist will dieser versuchen "angepasste" Updatefiles MIT vorhandener OtherOS Funktion zu entwickeln. Große Worte, wir werden sehen wie das weitergeht.
Also, vorausgesetzt es handelt sich bei all diesen Ankündigungen nicht um verfrühte Aprilscherze, solltet ihr euch genau überlegen ob ihr das Update nach dem Release am 01.04.2010 installiert.

Two things, some people seem to think CFW will enable some sort of piracy. It won't. It'll just be a custom version of 3.21 that doesn't lose OtherOS support. Hacking isn't about getting what you didn't pay for, it's about making sure you do get what you did.
And this is about more than this feature right now. It's about whether these companies have the right to take away advertised features from a product you purchased. Imagine if an exploit were found in Safari on the iPhone, but instead of fixing it, Apple decides to pull web browsing altogether. Legally, they may be within their right to do so, but we have to show them it's the wrong move for the future of the product and the company.
