Der Termin gilt zwar nur für die USA, allerdings wird man Europa im gleichen Zeitraum mit genügend Exemplare versorgen.

Wird der letzte Ableger werden!
Wie kürzlich Produzent Yoshinori Ono gegenüber von OXM angekündigt hat, wird Super Street Fighter IV definitiv der letzte Ableger der Serie sein. Begründet hat er die Entscheidung mit dem Wissen um Fehler, die Capcom im Zusammenhang mit der unkontrollierten Erweiterung von Street Fighter-Ablegern gemacht habe.
Aber er schließt weitere DLCs immerhin nicht gänzlich aus, er kann sich sogar vorstellen, dass es weiteren Zusatzinhalt im Jahre 2011 geben könnte. Ob das in inhaltlicher Form geschehen wird, ließ er aber noch offen. Super Street Fighter IV wird aber definitiv das letzte verpackte Produkt der Street Fighter IV-Reihe sein.
"Wir beabsichtigen nicht, in der Zukunft ein Super Street Fighter IV Ultra oder etwas ähnliches zu entwickeln, da wir uns unserer begangenen Fehler bewusst geworden sind." [...] "Ob es eine neue Marke oder ein komplett neuartiges Stree Fighter geben wird, können wir noch nicht sagen. Wir lassen uns jedenfalls alle Optionen offen, können aber mit Sicherheit sagen dass mit Super Street Fighter IV die Street Fighter IV Serie Ihren Abschluss gefunden hat."

Egal ob Sonys „Playstation Move“ oder Microsofts „Projekt Natal“ – 2010
steht im Zeichen der Bewegungssteuerung und soll vor allem
Gelegenheitsspielern die Tür zur Games-Welt öffnen. Kein Wunder also,
wenn sich Spielehersteller Gedanken machen, wie sie ihre Produkte
populärer machen und mit ihren Titeln mehr Gamer für sich gewinnen
können. So erwägt zum Beispiel „Super Street Fighter IV“-Produzent
Yoshinori Ono im Gespräch mit der Games-Webseite „Videogamer.com“, in
naher Zukunft eine Art „Street Fighter Fit“ zu
entwickeln – eben eine Symbiose aus Nintendos „Wii Fit“
und der Prügelserie.
So neu ist Onos Interesse am neigungssensitiven Lenken nicht: „Ich
bin an Bewegungssteuerung schon seit dem Start der Wii“ interessiert“,
gesteht der Japaner im Gespräch mit „Videogamer.com“. Aber warum kommt
Ono erst jetzt mit der Idee eines bewegungsgesteuerten „Street
Fighter“ an? „Ich glaube, es passt momentan nicht zum Stil, wie
‚Street Fighter‘ gespielt wird. Es würde zwar den
Anklang bei Gelegenheitsspieler vergrößern, aber es passt nicht zu solch
einem kompliziert ausbalancierten Spiel wie ‚Street Fighter‘“,
hält Ono fest.
Folgerichtig wird es auf absehbare Zeit kein gewöhnliches „Street
Fighter“ geben, das völlig auf Bewegungssteuerung setzt. Es
bedarf also eines neuen Spieldesigns, etwas komplett anderes als zwei
Kämpfern in der Seitenansicht dabei zuzuschauen, wie sie sich
gegenseitig die Energiebalken leerhauen: „Nun gäbe es eine
Möglichkeit,etwas wie ein ‚Street Fighter Fit‘ oder ‚Street
Fighter Excercise‘ zu machen, dass mehr auf Bewegungssteuerung
ausgelegt ist“, stellt sich Ono vor. Wer „Wii Fit“
oder die Box-Simulation bei „Wii Sports“ gespielt hat,
weiß was der Japaner meint. Statt auf Seitenansicht zu plädieren, setzt
dann dieses „Street Fighter Fit“ auf die
Ich-Perspektive und lässt Spieler ihre virtuellen Kontrahenten dann mit
Faust, Fuß und Feuerball verkloppen. Bis es aber soweit ist, schlagen
Prügelmeister mit „Super Street Fighter IV“ schon ab
dem 30. April auf Playstation und Xbox 360 zu.
