Publisher hat große Erwartungen!
Codemasters' Rod Cousens hat nun mit CVG über F1 2010 gesprochen. Demnach setzt der Publisher große Hoffnungen auf das im September erscheinende "F1 2010" und erwartet dabei rund "anderthalb bis zwei Millionen" verkaufte Einheiten in Europa.
"F1 2010 ist weit mehr als ein traditionelles F1-Rennspiel, also werden wir das nicht gefährden. Es hat eine Weile gedauert, bis F1-Enthusiasten wieder ein Spiel auf Next-Gen-Systemen bekommen. Wir weden ihnen zeigen, wie eine solche Spielerfahrung aussehen kann. Sie werden nicht enttäuscht sein."
"Wir erwarten uns Großes davon - ich denke, es wird die anderthalb bis zwei Millionen Einheiten in Europa übertreffen. Die Begeisterung für den Sport ist derzeit überall zu finden."
"Wir respektieren Gran Turismo, so wie all die anderen guten Rennspiele da draußen. Es ist sicherlich ein Vorteil, wenn ein Konsolenhersteller hinter einem steht. Es wäre unsinnig von mir, etwas anderes zu behaupten."

Keine Demo geplant!
Wie Ian Webster, Community-Manager bei Codemasters die Tage bekannt gab, wird es keine Demo zu "F1 2010" geben. Stattdessen will man lieber die Zeit nutzen um das Spiel weiter zu Optimieren. Nebenbei bestätigte Webster noch, dass die auf der E3 gezeigte Fassung "in keinster Weise repräsentativ für die Qualität des finalen Rennspiels" war.
Dafür wird sich laut den offiziellen Angaben aber am Release nichts mehr ändern, weswegen das Spiel auch pünktlich am 24. September 2010 für die Xbox 360, die PlayStation 3 und den PC erhältlich sein dürfte.

Arbeiten am Nachfolger haben bereits begonnen!
Wie einem Interview, welches Stephen Hood, Chef Designer bei Codemasters mit der Webseite formula1.com geführt hat zu entnehmen ist, haben die Arbeiten an "F1 2011" bereits begonnen. Für den Nachfolger habe man "eine Menge Dinge" geplant...
Damit ist u.a. das Energierückgewinnungssystem KERS gemeint, das schon in der Saison 2009 eingeführt wurde, aufgrund von technischen Problemen aber im Laufe der Saison bei den meisten Teams nicht mehr zum Einsatz kam.
Hood meinte dazu: "KERS ist etwas, das wir wirklich aufregend finden. Die Idee eines 'Turbo Boost' ist für ein Videospiel grandios, sodass wir uns darauf freuen, was wir damit anstellen können."

Präsentation mit "Adrian Sutil" auf der gamescom!
Wie nun bekannt wurde, wird Adrian Sutil am Mittwoch, den 18. August, als prominenter Stargast auf der gamescom 2010 in Köln das neue Rennspiel "F1 2010" präsentieren. Unter anderem steht ein Auftritt auf der gemeinsamen Pressekonferenz von Codemasters und Deep Silver, dem Spielelabel von Koch Media, auf dem Programm.
Im Rahmen der Pressekonferenz, die von 14 bis 15 Uhr am Stand von Deep Silver in Halle 7.1, Stand-Nr. B041 stattfindet, wird der 27-jährige Force India Pilot ein paar virtuelle Runden drehen und über die Faszination Formel 1 berichten.
