Even if not using for switching because the tv does not support it, just using it once to reset your own video mode has resolved issues...
- Fixed a frame rate issue on the Prince of Persia games (NTSC)
- Fixed a resolution (cropping) issue with Lego Star Wars I and II (NTSC)
...so even after updating a box it still may not be hitting all the Video EEPROM settings it should.
